Todd Hido

Been a fan of Todd Hido’s eerie long exposures of American suburbia for a while now.

Composed and manually focused before it got dark. Then had some fun experimenting with long exposures. In this shot I washed over the foreground with torchlight panning from left to right, and disturbed all the wildlife in the process. I wanted to capture some star trails but I guess the moonlight was a little overbearing.

Took a wide-angle 17-40mm lens out for a test run at sunny Shaldon. Was pretty pleased with the results it gave me, and I think in time we shall become the very best of friends.

Amazing pictures and a concise photojournalistic record of news events in 2008. Seemingly lots of things happened this year, I really should take more notice.

Theres a whole subculture of photographers exploring the disused London tube stations and sewers, sneaking around like Ninja Turtles and giving us an intriguing glimpse into the underworld. Check out these sweet pics of Euston Stations Disused Tunnels by Robert Stainforth (love the posters).

Also take a look at the experiences of sewer dwellers SilentUK. I’m surprised nobodies bought these places up and charged for underground tours?
